Base Salary
$262k - $364k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the long-term engineering direction for the Photos Create space while providing direct technical leadership on complex problems.
- Contribute to the codebase and system design while maintaining a high standard for technical excellence and scalable execution.
- Guide short- and long-term technical investments to support rapid delivery.
- Prototype and validate generative-media features and technologies in Google Photos.
- Work cross-functionally with product management, UX, and program management to drive strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development, such as with Java or C++.
- 5 years of experience building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks.
- 5 years of experience making technical contributions to projects.
- 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
- Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Preferred: experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models.
- Preferred: experience launching ML-enabled product features for consumers.
- Preferred: a track record of driving significant product impact through strategic guidance and direct technical contribution on high-complexity projects.
Benefits
- US base pay of $262000-$364000, plus a 25% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
