Base Salary
$260k - $306k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and multi-quarter delivery of Vanta’s enterprise organizational model.
- Define core abstractions for product lines, business units, data isolation, audits, scoped approvals, and data residency.
- Design safe incremental migration paths for evolving the live production system toward a multi-tenant organizational structure.
- Deliver meaningful customer value in staged releases while maintaining the long-term technical direction.
- Drive alignment and execution across squads outside the immediate team through technical clarity and credibility.
- Partner with Engineering leadership, Product, Design, and enterprise customers to translate the vision into phased deliverables.
- Set technical standards, establish reusable architectural patterns, and influence engineering excellence across teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of deep backend engineering experience.
- Track record leading complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives in fast-paced, product-focused environments.
- Experience designing platform abstractions that address diverse and conflicting enterprise requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to ship structurally complex initiatives incrementally in independent phases.
- Experience operating effectively across teams without direct authority.
- Deep familiarity with tenancy models, role-based access control, data isolation, scoped permissions, cross-tenant operations, and access-boundary design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex systems to technical, product, leadership, and customer-facing stakeholders.
- Data residency or GovCloud experience is preferred but not required.
- Curiosity and sound judgment when applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
