$198k - $277k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own embedded software verification strategy, requirements coverage, acceptance criteria, regression planning, and formal verification campaigns across software products.
- Architect, develop, and maintain reusable verification frameworks, hardware-interface adapters, test fixtures, test-data handling, and result-processing tools.
- Lead processor-in-the-loop setup, configuration, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, readiness checks, and coordination with the VTB team.
- Integrate emulation and data acquisition systems; develop interface software and test configurations for sensor and actuator simulation, closed-loop scenarios, and controlled fault injection.
- Develop software emulators and mocks and reuse verification scenarios across software-in-the-loop, processor-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
- Automate software deployment, environment configuration, test execution, data collection, report generation, and hardware regression workflows.
- Author, review, and maintain verification scripts, test files, procedures, vectors, expected results, configurations, and simulation assets.
- Deliver traceable verification reports and evidence packages for test-readiness, certification, release reviews, and NASA NPR 7150.2-related processes.
- Lead root-cause investigations, verify corrective actions, convert resolved defects into regression tests, and improve test isolation and diagnostics.
- Track coverage, anomalies, environment availability, execution time, readiness, evidence gaps, and technical risks.
- Lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, coordinate cross-team dependencies, and help define staffing and capability needs for the verification team.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience developing embedded software verification frameworks, automated tests, simulations, and hardware-integration solutions.
- Ability to work with processor-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop environments, including emulators, mocks, sensors, actuators, control cards, and data acquisition systems.
- Experience with software development, hardware integration, debugging, test automation, requirements traceability, configuration control, and verification evidence.
- Ability to account for electrical characteristics, signal scaling, timing, synchronization, and interface fidelity in test environments.
- Experience investigating failures across software, test scripts, simulations, and test equipment and converting findings into reliable regression coverage.
- Ability to apply software design, code review, testing, continuous integration, and release practices to verification infrastructure.
- Ability to evaluate AI-assisted engineering tools while validating generated test logic and preserving human review and configuration control.
- Experience communicating verification readiness, technical risks, coverage gaps, anomalies, and evidence status to engineering stakeholders.
- U.S. citizenship or national status, U.S. permanent residency, or lawful admission as a refugee or person granted asylum is required due to export control regulations.
