Base Salary
$80k - $117k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, document, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose.
- Own application architecture and build reusable, themeable Compose components and custom layouts.
- Integrate RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, SDKs, Jetpack components, and dependency injection frameworks.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks involving recomposition, state management, memory, and responsiveness.
- Write unit and UI tests, execute test plans, analyze results, and collaborate with QA on quality releases.
- Monitor and troubleshoot live applications and document technical solutions, coding practices, and maintenance procedures.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level developers, and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline setup and automation for Android builds.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams through software development lifecycle activities and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent qualifying experience as stated in the posting.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience building production applications with Jetpack Compose.
- Production-level hands-on proficiency in both Kotlin and Java and experience with native Android development.
- Strong understanding of Compose fundamentals, including state hoisting, recomposition, side effects, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Compose Navigation, Compose Animations, custom layouts/modifiers, legacy XML Views, and Compose-XML interoperation.
- Knowledge of MVVM/MVI architecture and Jetpack components including ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow, Room, WorkManager, and Navigation.
- Experience with Dagger/Hilt, Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, JSON, Retrofit, and OkHttp.
- Experience with unit testing and Compose UI testing using JUnit, Espresso, Compose Test APIs, and Mockito.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools, app security best practices, performance optimization, and Google Play Store publishing.
- Experience with code reviews, mentoring, cross-functional collaboration, and Android build automation is preferred.
