Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software applications in C++, C#, and Python for customer products, research initiatives, and internal engineering tools.
- Design and implement graphical user interfaces, reusable modules, libraries, and frameworks using Windows and Linux environments.
- Support software architecture, requirements analysis, design reviews, code reviews, integration with hardware and sensors, and networked system communications.
- Develop and execute test plans and verification procedures, including unit, integration, system, regression, automated, acceptance, and validation testing.
- Troubleshoot defects, analyze test results, document software designs and configurations, and maintain technical reports, manuals, and release information.
- Collaborate with Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Test, and Software Engineering teams on planning, estimation, technical reviews, and process improvements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience in an engineering environment.
- Strong C++ experience and competency with C# and Python, object-oriented programming, and maintainable software design.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows application development, Visual Studio, and the Microsoft .NET development environment.
- Experience working in team-based software development using Git-based source control tools.
- Experience with software testing, verification activities, test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Experience with cross-platform GUI development, particularly Qt, and familiarity with usability principles.
- Experience with Linux development environments, network programming, TCP/IP, UDP, client-server architectures, and diagnosing communication issues.
- Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, defense, industrial automation, marine systems, or similar industries is an asset.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.
