Responsibilities

  • Lead development and architecture of scalable, elastic distributed systems and owned components.
  • Optimize code and data paths for high-throughput, hyperscale workloads involving retrieval, storage, and processing.
  • Design fault-tolerant, upgradeable systems using redundancy, replication, failover, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
  • Establish KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, fault-injection validation, brownouts, replication, and synchronization mechanisms.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues, ensure operational readiness, and support operational excellence in a Cloud DevOps environment.
  • Develop security controls, remediation processes, compliance documentation, infrastructure automation, and safe patching, updating, and rollback workflows.
  • Perform software scoping, architecture, specification, development, source control, code review, documentation, testing, and estimation.
  • Coordinate with distributed and cross-functional teams to deliver project milestones and communicate status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor peers and participate in technical discussions and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash.
  • Hands-on experience developing multithreaded embedded Linux applications or infrastructure, firmware, and embedded systems.
  • Experience with network or storage stacks and protocols such as P4, DOCA, TCP/IP, NVMe, PCIe, or DPDK.
  • Knowledge of Intel, AMD, or ARM computer architectures and experience with hardware or system bring-up.
  • Experience with Linux kernel or driver programming and proficiency with Linux.
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as SR-IOV, VirtIO, or vDPA.
  • Experience in CI/CD environments and comfort working with remote lab equipment.
  • At least 11 years of software development experience, or a qualifying bachelor's degree and 7 years, master's degree and 5 years, or doctorate and 3 years.
  • At least 3 years of academic or professional experience with cloud platforms.
  • At least 5 years of system-level testing and automation experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis, automation, compliance, quality assurance, scripting, software test plans, code review, embedded systems, software estimation, and user experience development.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, self-management, and technical decision-making skills.
