$106k - $158k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and document embedded system software for new and existing medical products.
- Ensure software designs comply with company policies and support the design and maintenance of regulated medical products.
- Write and maintain software design documentation and testing requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Manufacturing to meet technical, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
- Work with software, software QA, and hardware engineers to integrate, debug, and test systems.
- Participate in product design reviews and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or a related master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong programming skills in C and/or C++.
- Hands-on embedded systems experience, including work with processors such as ARM, TI, and MSP or similar microcontrollers.
- Knowledge of software design principles, embedded software development, operating-system concepts, threading, mutual exclusion, deadlocks, interrupt service routines, and real-time systems.
- Strong object-oriented programming experience and experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and testing embedded software components.
- Knowledge of communication interfaces and protocols such as I2C, SPI, USB, Flash, and EEPROM.
- Preferred experience with Bluetooth Low Energy, communication systems, wireless technologies, medical devices, and Agile or other software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics is a plus.
