Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain embedded software and firmware in C/C++ for optical transport systems.
  • Design, implement, integrate, and verify real-time embedded solutions from requirements through deployment.
  • Support RTOS-based development involving low-level drivers, interrupt handling, and control firmware.
  • Integrate software with hardware, ARM processors, and FPGA-based components.
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues involving software, hardware, optics, and multi-processor architectures.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering at an accredited US school.
  • Preferred standing is a third- or fourth-year undergraduate student or a Master's student.
  • Experience developing embedded software in C/C++ on RTOS-based platforms.
  • Knowledge of firmware development, interrupt handling, low-level drivers, and timing-critical systems.
  • Experience with ARM processors, hardware interfaces, and multi-processor architectures.
  • Familiarity with FPGA/CPLD integration and hardware-software interaction.
  • Preferred qualifications include embedded Linux or other embedded operating systems, optical networking or telecommunications exposure, networking protocols, debugging tools, version control systems, and software development best practices.
