Responsibilities
- Design, implement, deliver, and maintain iOS or Android mobile application features and product improvements end to end.
- Build reliable and scalable mobile experiences and contribute to mobile architecture, shared components, SDK integrations, and reusable libraries.
- Drive technical decisions for owned mobile features, modules, or platform components.
- Improve application performance, startup time, responsiveness, battery usage, reliability, accessibility, and observability.
- Lead by example in code quality, automated testing, maintainability, and operational excellence.
- Debug mobile crashes, memory leaks, performance regressions, networking problems, and production incidents.
- Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, UX designers, QA, SRE/DevOps, and mobile engineers.
- Improve release quality through monitoring, telemetry, crash analytics, feature flags, and post-release analysis.
- Use AI technologies to accelerate development and improve code quality while maintaining ownership of validated, production-ready code.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience developing iOS or Android applications.
- Experience building, maintaining, and shipping mobile applications in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of iOS or Android tools and frameworks, such as Swift and Xcode or Kotlin, Java, Android Studio, and Gradle.
- Strong software development fundamentals and architecture knowledge, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Preferred experience with Swift or Kotlin and additional experience with Java, Objective-C, or C++.
- Preferred experience with SwiftUI, UIKit, Jetpack Compose, Android Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, or similar native mobile frameworks.
- Preferred experience with MVVM, modularization, REST APIs, asynchronous programming, networking, data persistence, and mobile application lifecycle management.
- Preferred experience with unit, UI, and integration testing, including XCTest, Espresso, JUnit, or Mockito.
- Preferred experience debugging production issues with Xcode Instruments, Android Studio Profiler, Logcat, Firebase Crashlytics, Datadog, Splunk, or similar tools.
- Preferred familiarity with mobile CI/CD, Git, automated builds, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and release management.
- Preferred experience with performance optimization, memory management, offline support, caching, push notifications, secure mobile development, and app-store distribution.
- Preferred experience collaborating with UX and design teams to deliver accessible, polished mobile experiences.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune or MDM is a plus.
- Clear communication, attention to detail, creativity in solving complex problems, and commitment to continuous learning and quality results are required.
