Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain foundational Android frameworks and shared components.
- Write efficient, high-quality, tested code for native mobile applications and participate in code reviews.
- Define engineering standards and improve codebase consistency.
- Support scalable mobile development through architecture guidance, process improvements, and technical support for contributors.
- Own end-to-end product quality across app design, development, framework maintenance, reliability, and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers.
- Prototype new ideas and explore emerging mobile technologies.
- Optimize app performance and stability, monitor performance metrics, and drive improvements.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing through technical blog content.
Requirements
- Experience developing native Android mobile applications with a strong understanding of Android architecture, frameworks, the Android SDK, Kotlin or Java, and Android Studio.
- At least 1 year of experience solving low-level design problems in mobile app development.
- Expertise with Android UI components and controls, including Jetpack Compose, Action Bars, Widgets, and Fragments.
- Expertise with Android Activities and Fragment lifecycles, Services, Intents, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
- Experience integrating web services using REST and JSON, along with cloud technologies such as AWS, GAE, and Firebase.
- Experience using analytics, location, and social APIs and dependency injection frameworks.
- Strong technical background, problem-solving ability, and commitment to high-quality software.
- Deep understanding of app performance metrics and improvement strategies.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 2–4 years of professional Android mobile development experience using Java or Kotlin.
- Bonus: experience with multiplatform technologies such as KMP and with AdTech, including VAST and ad-serving protocols.
