Responsibilities
- Shape the long-term technical direction for Apple’s financial services and payment processing systems.
- Drive architecture and technical strategy across Wallet, Payments, and Commerce and broader Apple engineering.
- Partner with engineering, product, business, and regulatory leaders on scalable, reliable, innovative, and compliant systems.
- Lead architectural decisions for money movement, tokenization, transaction processing, and regulated financial systems.
- Influence cross-functional technology investments and guide senior leaders.
- Mentor and elevate technical talent across global teams.
- Collaborate with external partners, financial institutions, and payment networks when needed.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in payments or financial systems, including money movement, tokenization, or transaction processing.
- Proven experience designing and evolving large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users or high-volume transactions.
- Strong foundation in cloud-native architectures and scalable, resilient systems, including AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
- Track record of technical leadership and architectural direction across large, complex organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional decisions and advise senior leaders on technology investments.
- Experience building or working with regulated systems and understanding compliance implications.
- Exceptional communication skills for executive and engineering audiences.
- Demonstrated success mentoring and developing technical talent across global teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience collaborating with external partners, financial institutions, or payment networks is preferred.
- Familiarity with emerging payment standards and technologies is preferred.
- Experience building or evolving shared platforms serving multiple products or business units is preferred.
