Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain integrations between legal SaaS systems, document repositories, MDM services, identity systems, data lakes, workflow platforms, reporting systems, and other enterprise applications.
- Implement API-based, event-driven, and batch/file-based integration patterns, including API clients and endpoints, message handlers, ETL/ELT jobs, and scheduled data synchronization.
- Develop data mappings, transformations, schema management, validation, reconciliation, lineage, and reference-data normalization processes.
- Build and operate pipelines that ingest contract documents, metadata, and extracted fields into the legal data lake for analytics, reporting, obligations tracking, and approved automation.
- Integrate legal systems with MDM and reference-data services, including match/merge, golden-record alignment, enrichment, and discrepancy-resolution processes.
- Define reusable integration standards covering canonical data models, naming, versioning, backward compatibility, error handling, idempotency, secrets management, and key rotation.
- Implement security and compliance controls including authentication, authorization, least privilege, encryption, secure credential storage, audit logging, data classification, retention, and privacy-by-design.
- Own integration operations through monitoring, alerting, incident triage, root-cause analysis, observability, health dashboards, on-call procedures, release readiness, and permanent fixes.
- Translate business workflow needs into technical requirements and coordinate dependencies and releases with Legal Operations, application owners, enterprise integration, data engineering, security, and vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred 8+ years of experience delivering enterprise integrations across SaaS and on-premises or cloud systems.
- Strong experience with API design and consumption, messaging and events, batch processing, data transformations, and schema management.
- Experience with REST, GraphQL, API gateways, OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, queues or streams, asynchronous processing, idempotency, ETL/ELT, SFTP, schema evolution, and reconciliation.
- Experience with integration platforms or middleware, workflow automation, and job scheduling.
- Strong production-operations experience, including monitoring, alerting, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
- Experience implementing secrets management, key rotation, token handling, audit logging, and other secure integration practices.
- Ability to produce interface specifications, sequence and data-flow diagrams, runbooks, and other clear technical documentation.
- Preferred experience integrating contract-management or CLM platforms and document repositories, as well as knowledge of legal contract metadata, obligations, and clause taxonomies.
- Preferred familiarity with MDM, golden records, match/merge, survivorship rules, reference-data governance, regulated industries, eDiscovery, and records retention.
