Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot real-time, bare-metal firmware and embedded systems.
- Develop engineering requirements from marketing and user needs and implement embedded software systems using modern software engineering processes.
- Conduct peer reviews of software designs and source code.
- Establish and execute test procedures for software applications and subsystems.
- Analyze and improve the efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources.
- Lead agile project teams through new product development and independently create work breakdown structures and drive critical milestones.
- Track project schedules, metrics, risks, barriers, and business opportunities while communicating progress across the organization.
- Mentor, guide, and coach junior engineers and provide day-to-day guidance as needed.
- Use laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, and data acquisition systems.
- Debug complex firmware issues, triage minor hardware issues, and ensure adherence to project schedules and company processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field plus five years of progressively responsible relevant experience, or a master’s degree in a related engineering field plus two years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Embedded C and C++.
- Experience developing extendable bare-metal firmware designs.
- Experience with DevOps, automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, and data acquisition systems.
- Complex debugging experience, including stack analysis and register dumps.
- Experience triaging minor hardware issues and major firmware issues.
- Ability to lead project teams, establish milestones, communicate effectively, and mentor junior engineers.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time.
