Base Salary
$183k - $279k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect deployment systems that isolate failures and contain blast radius across services and functional areas.
- Own the ECS and EKS container footprint, evaluate broader EKS adoption for AI workloads, and design inter-service networking.
- Design capacity planning and autoscaling systems for spiky workloads, including predictive capacity floors and early drift detection.
- Build a Terraform self-service infrastructure platform with guardrails for standard engineering changes.
- Implement per-team cost attribution and controls across AWS, Datadog, and LLM spend.
- Own Python runtime and dependency health, including garbage collection, event loop contention, runtime limits, and framework and package upgrades.
- Set technical direction and improve engineering practices through architecture reviews, runbooks, and paved-road tooling.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or SRE roles at companies running significant production traffic.
- Deep AWS expertise and production ownership of compute and networking at scale, including ECS, EKS, RDS, networking, and IAM.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code experience, particularly Terraform, including self-service platforms for engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience with autoscaling, capacity engineering, and container orchestration using ECS and/or EKS.
- A track record of making deployments safe and self-service for teams beyond one’s own.
- Preferred experience includes FinOps and cloud cost optimization, deep Kubernetes and EKS expertise, observability tooling at scale with Datadog, and healthcare or other regulated environments.
