Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance, latency-sensitive software services for the liquidity and payments business.
  • Implement features, enhancements, bug fixes, secure code, and automated tests.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure implementation meets design constraints.
  • Conduct technical analysis, estimation, planning, code reviews, architecture sessions, and retrospectives.
  • Identify recurring issues and improve application and system operational stability.
  • Participate in technology communities of practice and promote adoption of modern technologies.
  • Provide out-of-hours application support and coordinate production releases.
  • Use and critically validate enterprise-authorized AI-assisted tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed engineers and business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in Java concepts with proficient applied experience.
  • Understanding of Java 17+, Spring Boot, object-oriented programming, multithreading, messaging technologies, and computer networks.
  • Experience with JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Test Framework.
  • Experience designing and using schemas and data structures in resilient SQL and NoSQL databases, including CockroachDB.
  • Familiarity with Linux, system utilities, containers, cloud architectures, and cloud services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience working across globally distributed teams.
  • Understanding of the full software development lifecycle and agile approach.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate and validate generated outputs.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
  • Preferred: experience with Rust, Go, or C++; high-performance Java applications; Envoy or other OSI Layer 7 proxies; gRPC and Google Protocol Buffers; Terraform; Kubernetes and public cloud platforms such as AWS; and relevant CKAD or AWS certifications.
