Base Salary
$228k - $237k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set solution and architectural strategy for yourself or a limited number of peers.
- Design and build backend solutions using asynchronous pipelines, database systems, and RPC handlers.
- Develop software for shared airspace operations, geospatial data ingestion, regulatory compliance, and scalable drone operations.
- Investigate unfamiliar technical areas and deliver complex systems with limited guidance.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, industry partners, product managers, and program managers to launch new features.
- Mitigate, investigate, root-cause, and resolve urgent issues through on-call rotations or escalations.
- Contribute to team culture, support, engagement, and software quality.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing backend software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working collaboratively.
- Ability to identify challenging problems, develop solutions with limited guidance, and successfully launch them.
- Experience with backend systems involving database schema design and synchronous or asynchronous systems.
- Experience developing in C++, or ability to quickly learn C++ with experience in similar languages such as Java or Go.
