Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain firmware for wearable sensing devices, including microcontroller programming, sensor integration, and real-time data acquisition.
- Build reliable device-to-cloud communication and data streaming for synchronized vision and tactile data.
- Design and operate AWS infrastructure using EC2, S3, Lambda, and IoT Core for large-scale multimodal data collection, storage, and processing.
- Develop Python APIs, ingestion services, and high-throughput data pipelines.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain device fleets and real-world data-capture setups, converting field issues into engineering fixes.
- Troubleshoot problems across device firmware, hardware, cloud deployments, and the broader data-collection chain.
- Collaborate with hardware, ML, and data teams on system requirements, testing, documentation, and infrastructure improvements.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of engineering experience across embedded systems and cloud.
- Strong experience with C/C++, RTOS, microcontrollers, real-time systems, sensor integration, and low-level programming.
- Hands-on AWS experience with EC2, S3, Lambda, IoT Core, and reliable high-throughput data pipelines.
- Software engineering experience in Python or a similar language, including APIs, data streaming services, and hardware-to-cloud integration.
- Knowledge of networking, security best practices, performance optimization, monitoring, and logging.
- Strong debugging, ownership, and independent-work skills across hardware, firmware, and cloud layers.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluent English is required; Korean or Mandarin is a strong plus.
- Experience with robotics, tactile or force sensing, wearables, IoT devices, real-world data collection, sensor fusion, time synchronization, multi-camera capture, ML data pipelines, robot-learning datasets, or remote hardware deployment is preferred.
