Responsibilities
- Own software work from inception through delivery and ongoing improvement.
- Architect robust, extensible, scalable, sustainable, and secure features.
- Write quality code, refactor legacy code, and participate in code reviews and paired programming.
- Understand user needs and design intuitive experiences with user impact in mind.
- Mentor engineers, foster individual growth, and help level up the engineering organization.
- Collaborate across development teams, departments, and product partners to deliver value.
- Write technical designs and break down complex features into deliverable work.
- Communicate technical needs and solutions to product partners.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience architecting features for long-term impact and success.
- Experience writing technical designs and breaking down complex features.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Preferred experience with Python and ReactJS.
- Ability to work independently in a complex Python codebase or quickly scale up on Python.
- Good understanding of SQL, ORMs, and non-relational databases.
- Preferred GCP experience; other cloud experience is welcome.
- Understanding of web performance strategies and metrics.
- Experience with or strong understanding of microservices.
- Interest in mentoring engineers and fostering individual growth.
- Ability to follow through on commitments and communicate effectively with product partners.
