
Senior Embedded Controls Engineer, Body Controls

Responsibilities
- Specify, design, and implement software architecture for body-controls firmware from prototype bring-up through high-volume production.
- Develop control and estimation algorithms for windows, closure systems, lighting, and other body-control features.
- Develop drivers and control actuators for low-voltage motors and lighting systems.
- Lead hardware integration and validation on electrical test assets including benches, bucks, labcars, and vehicles.
- Collaborate with software integration, hardware, electrical architecture, systems, and UI/UX teams to bring up functions and define requirements.
- Participate in functional safety analyses for complex vehicle subsystems.
- Create test plans and validate firmware functionality, stability, performance, timing, memory usage, and low-power modes.
- Lead feature development, feature boundary diagrams, validation strategies, subsystem block diagrams, and subsystem reviews.
- Set up automation frameworks for unit, SIL, and HIL testing and perform component-level test procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability.
- At least 3 years of experience writing production-grade C for real-time embedded systems and understanding standards such as MISRA C.
- Hands-on experience with RTOS environments including FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS, OSEK, or AUTOSAR, as well as bare-metal embedded software.
- At least 3 years of experience with electrical hardware applications, prototype bring-up, and systems development.
- At least 3 years of experience with vehicle network protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
- At least 3 years of experience using embedded networking interface tools in automotive, aerospace, or similar fields.
- Strong low-level debugging, hardware bring-up, timing and memory optimization, low-power, electrical test equipment, and embedded networking experience.
- Working knowledge of vehicle architecture, battery technologies, software and hardware tool development, motor calibration, OBD calibration, functional safety, networking, and diagnostics processes.
- Experience creating and executing component-level test procedures and owning test results.
- Preferred qualifications include driver development, RTOS integration, Bazel, SCons, CMake, PCB component analysis tools, Python testing scripts, hardware bring-up, system debugging, code optimization, and electrical circuit analysis and design.
