Responsibilities
- Define and own the multi-year technical architecture for the Developer Platform ecosystem.
- Act as the technical decision-maker for complex architecture challenges.
- Champion solutions that enforce technical standards and drive code quality.
- Elevate technical capabilities through expert consulting and design reviews.
- Own the architectural evolution of the Bazel build system and associated toolchains.
- Define technical standards for Site Reliability Engineering and CI/CD practices.
- Architect systems for measuring and improving engineering performance.
- Establish and enforce unified technical standards for cloud security and reliability.
- Provide expert consultation on high-risk architectural decisions.
- Drive initiatives for cloud resource optimization across AWS services.
Requirements
- 12+ years of progressive experience in Software Engineering with a focus on Platform Engineering.
- 5+ years in a Principal Engineer or Chief Architect role, setting technical strategy.
- Expert-level proficiency in advanced build systems like Bazel and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep expertise in architecting complex internal developer platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Cloud Architecture, distributed systems, and SRE principles.
- Exceptional technical communication and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
