Responsibilities
- Propose and implement scalable systems for sophisticated customers.
- Partner with stakeholders to turn ambiguous ideas into shipped, enterprise-ready features.
- Own the full development lifecycle from customer conversation through post-release monitoring.
- Set technical direction across projects.
- Mentor engineers and raise the team’s engineering standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of performance, reliability, and robust systems design.
- Empathy for compensation teams and understanding of employee pay-pricing challenges.
- Strong judgment when navigating ambiguous problems and tradeoffs.
- Ability to break complex problems into milestones with clear success metrics and drive completion with minimal oversight.
- Ability to influence design decisions, mentor engineers, and communicate reasoning clearly.
- Ability to ship thoughtful solutions in a fast-paced environment without over-engineering.
