Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-end geophysical algorithms for seismic processing, imaging, and interpretation.
- Improve the efficiency, usability, reliability, and scalability of GPU- and CPU-based HPC software.
- Participate in software design discussions, development, debugging, profiling, optimization, deployment, and product release activities.
- Deploy software in large-scale high-performance computing facilities and collaborate with distributed developer, research, and user teams.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science, or five years of hands-on scientific programming experience.
- Fluency in C/C++, with Fortran preferred.
- Experience with UNIX/POSIX programming and the full software development lifecycle.
- Extensive experience with debugging, profiling, optimization, MPI, CUDA, or other parallel computing technologies.
- Extensive experience with scientific computing across multiple HPC architectures.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with machine learning tools, Python code and library optimization, data structures, data compression, data I/O pipelining, Perforce or other source control software, and SQL or other databases.
- Strong mathematics, physics, engineering, analytical, problem-solving, communication, motivation, and willingness to learn.
