Base Salary

$104k - $186k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop, train, and validate machine learning and deep learning models for segmentation, quantification, and detection across CT, MRI, and X-ray.
  • Design and implement 2D and 3D architectures, including CNNs, transformer-based models, and foundational models.
  • Build scalable pipelines for data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
  • Develop quantitative imaging methods such as volumetrics, density measurements, and biomarker extraction.
  • Use curated multi-institutional datasets to improve model generalizability and robustness.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and engineering teams to define clinically meaningful outputs.
  • Produce regulatory-grade documentation for datasets, model development, validation, and performance.
  • Ensure reproducibility and traceability through data, model, and code versioning.
  • Support FDA 510(k) and De Novo submissions by providing technical documentation and validation evidence.
  • Contribute to software quality and security activities, including vulnerability assessment and penetration testing with cybersecurity and regulatory teams.
  • Use modern LLM-based coding assistants to accelerate development and improve code quality.
  • Participate in code reviews, Git-based development, testing, manuscripts, grants, and technical reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or a related field with 5+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience with programming languages, databases, software development lifecycles, and the position-specific technical and scientific domains.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing machine learning or deep learning models for image analysis.
  • Experience with segmentation, detection, and/or quantitative imaging algorithms in 2D and/or 3D.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Experience with modern architectures including U-Net variants, detection frameworks, transformers, or foundational models.
  • Familiarity with DICOM and medical imaging workflows, evaluation metrics, version control, and collaborative development.
  • Experience producing clear, structured technical documentation and using LLM-based coding assistants such as Claude or Codex.
  • Experience developing and documenting AI solutions for clinical translation or regulatory submissions is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Good Machine Learning Practice, regulatory or quality collaboration, cybersecurity concepts, and software security principles.
  • Experience with large multi-institutional datasets, radiology workflows, quantitative imaging biomarkers, cloud or high-performance computing, and research or clinical deployment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated prior performance in a comparable role and ability to work collaboratively in a translational, regulatory-aware environment.
