Base Salary
$170k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of scalable backend solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
- Advocate for technical needs and priorities within the engineering organization.
- Participate in product discovery sessions to define product features.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams for seamless integration.
- Contribute to the vision for the team and platform as a technical leader.
- Implement observability practices for system reliability.
- Analyze performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to knowledge-sharing.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and propose enhancements.
- Stay updated with industry trends and propose innovative solutions.
- Assist with interviews and onboarding of new engineers.
- Model a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years as a software engineer with production code experience.
- 3+ years of experience in back-end distributed system design.
- 3+ years of experience with microservice architectures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in building scalable web applications in a cloud environment.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes and AWS for microservices hosting.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with agile software development methodologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and testing.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects independently.
