Base Salary
$230k - $385k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship new iOS experiences.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and responsiveness at global scale.
- Design and maintain shared iOS frameworks and primitives for account, trust, and commerce flows across OpenAI’s mobile apps.
- Establish robust testing frameworks and improve app architecture for long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate with product, design, research, and backend teams to deliver features.
- Provide technical leadership for OpenAI’s iOS platform.
Requirements
- Up to 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
- A proven track record of building high-quality production iOS applications, especially reliable and resilient systems at scale.
- Experience owning complex, business-critical mobile systems end-to-end.
- Experience making deep architectural tradeoffs on iOS.
- Fluency in Swift and familiarity with the Apple development ecosystem, including Xcode, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
- Strong focus on performance, security, and user experience.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, research, backend, and safety teams.
