Responsibilities
- Design and develop significant technology initiatives end to end across multiple product and architecture layers.
- Set high standards for engineering design, implementation, and testing.
- Collaborate with peers, cross-functional teams, and business units to define and prioritize requirements and drive results.
- Scope efforts, identify risks, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Make strategic technology decisions informed by industry trends.
- Mentor engineers in technology, process, people, and product skills.
- Own specifications, quality, release deployments, monitoring, and production support for shipped products and features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8–12 years of software development experience in large-scale distributed technology environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java, web technologies, design, and architecture.
- Experience developing search and recommendation systems and/or knowledge graphs.
- Experience developing systems that process data at large scale.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, multitasking, and business acumen skills.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in modern SaaS technology.
- Experience with Scrum, Agile processes, unit testing, and test-driven development.
- Passion for solving customer problems and ability to work in a fast-changing, timeline-driven environment.
