Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and secure ING’s digital asset technology capabilities.
- Secure wallet infrastructure, key management, cryptographic controls, custody models, smart contracts, transaction authorization, secure signing, tokenization platforms, and blockchain integrations.
- Apply secure coding, threat modeling, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security architecture practices.
- Ensure digital asset platforms are secure by design, resilient, auditable, compliant, and production-ready in a regulated banking environment.
- Collaborate with digital asset engineers, blockchain engineers, architects, cybersecurity teams, risk, compliance, legal, product owners, and global technology squads.
- Contribute to scalable architectures, automation, and reliable technology platforms across ING’s global organization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution design, or architecture roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong background in cybersecurity, secure software engineering, platform security, or cryptographic systems.
- Understanding of blockchain and digital asset fundamentals, including wallets, public/private key cryptography, digital signatures, transaction signing, smart contracts, tokens, blockchain nodes, and custody models.
- Experience with secure coding, threat modeling, vulnerability management, penetration testing, or security architecture.
- Familiarity with APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Understanding of IAM, privileged access management, secrets management, encryption, logging, monitoring, and audit trails.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile organizations and fluent English communication at C1 level or above.
- Preferred experience in banking, financial services, payments, capital markets, securities, custody, wholesale banking, digital assets, tokenization, stablecoins, CBDCs, tokenized deposits, or blockchain-based settlement.
- Preferred hands-on experience with HSMs, MPC platforms, wallet infrastructure, custody technology providers, smart contract security tools, blockchain networks, cryptographic protocols, secure enclaves, threshold signatures, distributed key generation, or zero-knowledge proofs.
- Security certifications or knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, CIS, OWASP, cloud security benchmarks, CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, GIAC, CEH, cloud security certifications, or blockchain security certifications are advantageous.
