Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and evaluate deep learning algorithms for computer vision under low-power, low-latency, and data-efficiency constraints.
- Translate business requirements into working prototypes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and product teams to transition prototypes into scalable, user-friendly Cognex products.
- Monitor current industry and academic research and propose algorithmic advancements for Cognex products.
- Drive complex research projects with significant ambiguity and demonstrate technical thought leadership.
- Apply computer vision, natural language processing, transformers, generative AI, and traditional vision methods to industrial manufacturing applications.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from a top engineering school in computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent field.
- At least 5 years of industrial work experience in deep learning or data science.
- Industry or academic experience developing and optimizing deep learning algorithms in computer vision, natural language processing, or speech recognition.
- Deep understanding of convolutional neural networks and transformer architectures.
- Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong Python and C++ programming skills.
- Demonstrated experience incubating and productizing new technology from ideation through scalable implementation.
