Responsibilities
- Capture and analyze deep performance traces to diagnose frame pacing anomalies, memory pressure, and thermal throttling in top mobile games.
- Develop isolated reproduction benchmarks and automated profiling test harnesses for complex game engine workloads.
- Prototype and implement optimizations in native game engine runtimes and Android platform subsystems.
- Partner with Android telemetry and graphics teams to integrate performance metrics and validate field improvements.
- Author diagnostic documentation and reproduction playbooks for game studios and engine maintainers.
- Comply with company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 1 year of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- At least 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: experience with C++, C#, Java, or Rust software development.
- Preferred: familiarity with game development, Unity, Unreal Engine, Vulkan, or OpenGL ES.
- Preferred: familiarity with Perfetto, GPU counters, RenderDoc, or Linux perf.
- Preferred: interest in mobile graphics pipelines, frame scheduling, and native memory management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity for investigating complex, multithreaded native software systems.
