Responsibilities
- Design and develop software for new products and applications.
- Maintain software for products and applications already in production.
- Troubleshoot issue reports, reproduce problems, evaluate technical causes, and implement and test solutions.
- Identify and resolve basic defects using engineering tools and techniques.
- Apply design standards and procedures to document and implement software designs.
- Participate in rotating on-call support for Garmin’s 24/7 operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge, education, experience, or training sufficient to develop basic software in C, C++, C#, Java, assembly language, or other selected languages.
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 as a general rule.
- Preferred cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
- Previous work or internship experience in design, particularly for consumer products, is preferred.
