Base Salary
$180k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build analytical, cycle-level Python models of AI inference workloads on next-generation GPNPU hardware.
- Analyze compute, memory bandwidth, interconnect, pipelining, tensor placement, tiling, local memory residency, and data movement across memory tiers.
- Model sharding and collective boundary communication across multi-die systems.
- Represent vision and LLM workload characteristics including operators, sparsity, routing, quantization, and low-precision numeric formats.
- Calibrate models against an instruction-set simulator and profiling traces to meet accuracy targets.
- Write and defend evidence-based technical studies that inform architecture and product decisions.
- Balance single-stream latency against scaled-throughput performance and own workload models end to end.
Requirements
- Strong Python skills and experience writing, validating, and calibrating numerical or quantitative models.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture fundamentals including memory hierarchies, bandwidth and latency trade-offs, pipelining, and execution bottlenecks.
- Comfort writing clear technical studies and defending evidence-based conclusions.
- Deep understanding of neural-network inference operators and tensor shapes, or proven performance-modeling experience in another quantitative technical domain.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with GPUs, custom AI accelerators, CUDA, Triton kernels, roofline analysis, architecture simulators, compiler internals, cost models, autotuners, C++, or published performance studies.
