Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize critical banking applications in IBM Mainframe environments.
- Program and support COBOL, BATCH, CICS, and DB2 applications and processes.
- Write and optimize advanced SQL queries and manage data integrity and performance.
- Automate code promotions and batch processes using JCL, Control-M, and related Mainframe tools.
- Perform unit and integration testing for COBOL programs, BATCH processes, and CICS transactions.
- Ensure code quality, operational stability, security, performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with technical, business, and multidisciplinary teams using agile ways of working.
- Document system flows, transaction integrations, Mainframe architecture, and DB2 data models.
- Track incidents, changes, and production operations using ServiceNow and coordinate work through Jira Software or Azure DevOps Boards.
Requirements
- At least six years of experience developing COBOL/Mainframe applications.
- Bachelor's degree or engineering degree in computer systems, informatics, computing, systems engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with COBOL, BATCH, CICS, DB2, SQL, JCL, and Mainframe development environments.
- Experience with Git, IBM Endevor, CA Librarian or Panvalet, and batch promotion tools such as Control-M or CA-7.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and validating Mainframe batch and CICS processes.
- Knowledge of IBM z/OS, ISPF, TSO, IBM Developer for z/OS, Eclipse Mainframe plugins, and DB2 data integrity and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of UML activity, sequence, component, and entity-relationship diagrams.
- Banking or financial-services experience is required by the stated profile.
- Technical English is desirable.
- Desired certifications include IBM COBOL Developer Professional Certificate, IBM z/OS Mainframe Practitioner, IBM Certified Specialist – DB2, Scrum Fundamentals Certified, or Scrum Developer.
