Responsibilities
- Understand the business requirements and functional context of the firm’s systems.
- Build new features and improve, refactor, consolidate, clean up, or remove existing functionality.
- Recommend project direction, including simplification, growth, and alignment across system areas.
- Review applications prototyped outside engineering and help steer, rebuild, or secure them.
- Use AI-assisted development while explaining and verifying submitted AI-generated code.
- Maintain system stability through test coverage, documentation, and sustainable design.
Requirements
- Two years as a Software Engineer in a web application environment, or two years as a Software Engineer plus a reputable boot camp certification, or a four-year Computer Science degree with projects or work experience.
- Knowledge of Python, TypeScript, APIs, Git, and web application system design concepts.
- Strong prompt-driven AI development abilities backed by technical understanding.
- Ability to overcome production obstacles beyond prototypes and build cohesive systems that scale.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS or cloud infrastructure experience and Django/Django REST Framework experience.
