Responsibilities
- Own product or infrastructure direction for a major area from initial development through scalable production solutions.
- Build and operate highly scalable, available, and fault-tolerant distributed systems for thousands of customers.
- Perform low-level systems debugging, performance measurement, and optimization on large production clusters.
- Design architectures, influence product roadmaps, and take ownership of new projects.
- Prevent and investigate production issues using deep distributed-systems expertise.
- Plan and lead complex technical projects involving multiple internal teams.
- Lead engineering initiatives, technical review committees, and organization-wide efforts.
- Mentor engineers, support recruiting, lead sprint planning, delegate work, and participate in project planning.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their practical applications.
- Experience driving company initiatives focused on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work toward a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.
- Motivation to deliver customer value and measurable impact.
