Base Salary

$152k - $228k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and document embedded system software for new and existing Insulet products.
  • Ensure software designs comply with company policies and medical-product design and maintenance requirements.
  • Write and maintain design documentation and testing requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Manufacturing to meet technical, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Work with software, software QA, and hardware engineers to integrate, debug, and test systems.
  • Participate in product design reviews.
  • Direct and mentor junior engineers as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Software Engineering.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience required.
  • Strong programming skills in C and familiarity with embedded C++.
  • Hands-on embedded-systems experience, including work with processors such as ARM, TI, and MSP or similar microcontrollers.
  • Experience developing software for embedded microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of software design, embedded communication systems, wireless protocols, and resource-constrained object-oriented programming.
  • Knowledge of I2C, SPI, Flash, EEPROM, USB, RTOS, real-time systems, and Bluetooth Low Energy.
  • Knowledge of operating-system concepts including deadlocks, threading, mutual exclusion, and interrupt services.
  • Medical-device experience preferred.
  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain a section of a design and to read electrical schematics.
  • Strong software-engineering, communication, prioritization, organization, and problem-solving skills.
