Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Soldiers and mission users to translate operational requirements into technical solutions within the SHEPRD application.
- Implement rapid updates, enhancements, and fixes based on mission objectives and user feedback.
- Test, deploy, and maintain new functionality while integrating it with existing processes and systems.
- Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting to operational users onsite and remotely.
- Conduct training and mentoring for Soldiers and other application users.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and other iterative development activities.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to improve development workflows and scalability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to complex operational challenges.
- Prepare documentation, demonstrations, and reports for stakeholders.
- Travel occasionally within CONUS to 4th Infantry Division locations or associated mission sites.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance.
- Experience building modern web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience developing backend services with a server-side framework such as Node.js or equivalent.
- Experience with relational databases, including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience designing and integrating APIs for frontend applications and external data sources.
- Experience deploying applications in containerized environments such as Docker.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-interaction skills.
- Eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance; only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Preferred experience with military personnel, federal agencies, Army software development processes, and operational mission systems.
- Preferred full-stack experience with React and Express.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes or EKS, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government.
- Preferred understanding of Agile development practices and sprint ceremonies.
- Preferred experience improving operational decision-making systems using user feedback, prioritization logic, or performance needs.
- Security+ certification or willingness to obtain it within six months of hire.

- Occasional CONUS travel to other 4th Infantry Division locations or associated mission sites is required.
- The position supports federal defense operations and requires an active Secret clearance or eligibility for one.
