Base Salary

$93k - $210k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, operate, and optimize backend platform components, APIs, SDKs, and integration frameworks.
  • Own a bounded platform area and evolve its contracts, versioning, interoperability, and multi-tenant capabilities.
  • Debug distributed services and resolve complex issues with compatibility-safe fixes and upgrade paths.
  • Improve availability, performance, capacity, resilience, monitoring, logging, automation, and service operability.
  • Lead code reviews, troubleshoot API and integration issues, and implement software testing and quality processes.
  • Create technical documentation, samples, adoption guidance, and operational materials for platform consumers.
  • Collaborate across OCI teams, support customers with reported issues, and provide technical guidance where needed.
  • Participate in incident investigation, maintenance, patching, root-cause follow-up, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 4 years of professional software-development experience; advanced degree holders may have fewer years of experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or systems programming language such as Java, C++, C#, or Go.
  • Experience building backend services, APIs, microservices, SDKs, or developer-facing platform capabilities.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and secure software development.
  • Experience with API design, integration, versioning, testing, source control, and production troubleshooting.
  • Preferred experience includes highly available and scalable cloud services, RESTful APIs, containers, cloud-native deployment, observability, service reliability engineering, database technologies, multi-tenant design, and technical documentation.
