Base Salary
$208k - $269k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the fleet observability platform, including data pipelines, telemetry decoration and correlation, and healthcheck frameworks.
- Define and build versioned infrastructure APIs used to manage and operate the hyperscale compute fleet.
- Build the Kubernetes-based production control plane for unified machine management, state inspection, and distributed command execution.
- Maintain fleet state as a source of truth across provisioning, operations, and customer-facing platforms, including SLOs and site lifecycle state.
- Integrate new hardware generations and sites through zero-touch provisioning, DHCP, DNS, and artifact workflows.
- Carry pager responsibilities, lead incidents, write postmortems, and address systemic causes.
Requirements
- Treat automation and elimination of operational toil as core engineering responsibilities.
- Demonstrate strong API design and versioning judgment for systems operating at scale.
- Be comfortable working through ambiguity and rapidly developing competence in unfamiliar domains.
- Have shipped production services that other teams depend on at scale and be comfortable working in any programming language with AI coding tools.
- Be comfortable with incident response and on-call operations.
- Use AI tooling such as LLM APIs, MCP servers, and agentic frameworks, including tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Preferred experience includes distributed systems, data pipeline engineering, time-series observability stacks, workflow and orchestration engines, BMC/Redfish, hardware telemetry, Go, Python, and Postgres.
