Responsibilities
- Develop mission operations processes and concepts of operations across LEOP, commissioning, and routine operations.
- Evaluate SOC software tools and operational architectures and support SOC system design, integration, and evolution.
- Configure, operate, and troubleshoot satellite operations tools and environments.
- Develop, test, and validate satellite procedures, sequences of events, command scripts, and telemetry validation logic.
- Create custom mission operations tools, automation scripts, lightweight applications, dashboards, and visualization tools.
- Integrate mission operations workflows with internal and external APIs.
- Support SOC-to-satellite integration tests, end-to-end testing, mission rehearsals, simulations, readiness activities, and critical on-orbit operations.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, flight software, ground software, and vendors, and provide mentoring and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Math, or another STEM field.
- 2–5+ years of relevant experience in mission operations, software development, or automation roles.
- Experience scripting operational procedures or automation workflows with Python or similar languages.
- Familiarity with satellite command and control operations and mission operations workflows.
- Experience working in Windows development and operations environments and with AWS or other cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems and the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence.
- Preferred experience with multi-satellite LEO constellations, automated mission operations systems, distributed systems, networking protocols, API integrations, telemetry displays, monitoring dashboards, operator UIs, databases, systems engineering, and mission rehearsals or simulations.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate across distributed teams, solve problems, communicate effectively, and operate under tight deadlines in high-stress environments.
