Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, robust APIs, libraries, and services for BitGo’s API-first platform.
- Own functionality and scalability features from inception through deployment and customer integration.
- Expose and document functionality for user interfaces, third-party developers, and internal and external tooling.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other cross-functional partners to define and ship features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while ensuring application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs, and evaluate new technologies to improve development efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor peers through reviews and education on engineering best practices.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of backend and server-side development experience.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Strong understanding of algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs, working with microservices and service-oriented architectures, and performing unit and functional testing and debugging.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or another technical discipline.
- Understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
- Preferred: experience developing consumer-facing crypto products and public-facing production APIs.
- Preferred: ability to work full-stack and familiarity with React.
- Preferred: experience working with clients or business partners and familiarity with digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, or accounting systems.
