Base Salary

$90k - $145k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop sensorless motor-control algorithms for proof-of-concept prototypes.
  • Design, simulate, implement, and test motor-control functionality in embedded systems.
  • Develop electrification solutions for power tools and outdoor equipment.
  • Work with microcontrollers, peripherals, real-time processing, scheduling, interrupts, RTOS concepts, and control systems.
  • Debug hardware and software using in-circuit debuggers and electronic test equipment.
  • Document designs and decisions for reuse and extension.
  • Communicate with internal customers and stakeholders to understand needs.
  • Maintain project schedules and track progress toward objectives and deadlines.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.
  • Monitor semiconductor and motor technology advancements relevant to the business.

Requirements

  • BSEE/MSEE in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with C and C++ software development.
  • Knowledge of assembly programming.
  • Experience using microcontrollers and peripherals including timers, ADC, UART, SPI, and I2C.
  • Experience with closed-loop control and feedback systems.
  • Experience with motor-drive systems and motor-control algorithms including Field Oriented Control.
  • Understanding of GPIO, watchdogs, DMA, hard real-time processing, process scheduling, cooperative multitasking, interrupt processing, race conditions, and RTOS.
  • Experience with both hardware and software development.
  • Experience using power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters.
  • Experience debugging with an in-circuit debugger or other methods.
  • Strong ownership of objectives and diligent problem solving.
