Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and testing of native Android applications for complex technical projects.
- Develop software specifications and architectural designs that are scalable, maintainable, secure, performant, and aligned with best practices.
- Drive long-term technical strategies and serve as a prime technical consultant on projects affecting organizational goals.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and help cultivate technical innovation and talent.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop solutions that meet customer needs and exceed competitors.
- Monitor Android ecosystem and competitor trends to guide product and technology direction.
- Prioritize quality and continuous improvement across software projects, including user experience and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 7+ years focused on native Android application development.
- Expert-level knowledge of Kotlin and Java.
- Deep understanding of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle.
- Experience with modern Android development and Jetpack libraries including Compose, ViewModel, LiveData, Room, and Navigation.
- Strong knowledge of MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
- Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger or Hilt.
- Proficiency writing unit, integration, and UI tests using tools such as JUnit, Espresso, and Mockito.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex customer problems and use emerging technologies effectively.
