Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise and technical support to a U.S. Government team working on advanced Air Force training systems.
- Oversee and assess software architecture and multi-level software designs for a complex system of systems.
- Evaluate software designs from requirements through final system integration test plans.
- Develop technical risk mitigation strategies and assess technical and program risks.
- Decompose system-level non-functional requirements and constraints into software components.
- Support requirements development, validation, tracing, verification, defect burn-down, regression testing, and integration metrics.
- Perform threat assessments, vulnerability assessments, secure software architecture analysis, software test evaluation, and application integration.
- Work with multiple engineering disciplines and corporate entities to ensure systems meet requirements and integrate effectively.
- Work side-by-side with customers as a subject matter expert and enable government ownership of delivered technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in software and/or systems engineering.
- Experience designing complex software systems of systems, including requirements validation and verification.
- Familiarity with software system design, development, deployment, and testing in containerized environments.
- Fluency in an object-oriented language such as C#, C++, or Java.
- Proficiency with software interfaces using tools such as Google Protocol Buffers.
- Proficiency with SysML and Cameo.
- Experience with requirements management, requirements development, validation, tracing, and verification.
- Knowledge of software and system design patterns and their application.
- Familiarity with secure software development processes, API security concerns, and Day 0, Day 1, and Day 2 operations.
- Strong team, interpersonal, oral communication, and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include defense-program experience, air-gapped deployment experience, Atlassian suite experience, Git and Bitbucket experience, DoD mission operations network experience, and familiarity with FedRAMP or other government security standards.
- Active DoD SECRET clearance is preferred.
