Base Salary
$140k - $372k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, ship, and support high-quality software solutions across multiple GitHub services.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, pairing opportunities, and code reviews to help teams produce extensible and maintainable code.
- Own the health and quality of team systems, including participating in on-call, first-responder rotations, and live incident response.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement innovative solutions.
- Write architecture briefs and proposals, run code experiments, and build prototypes for planetary-scale systems.
- Design and implement REST APIs and use CI/CD tools to establish automated integration and delivery pipelines.
Requirements
- 9+ years of software engineering or related technical experience, or an approved education-and-experience alternative ranging from an associate degree with 8+ years to a doctorate with 3+ years, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience building and operating high-scale web applications.
- 2+ years of experience designing and building REST APIs.
- 4+ years of experience working with distributed systems and scalable architectures.
- Experience with one or more scripting languages, software platforms, front-end frameworks, databases, search systems, or telemetry dashboards such as Bash, Python, Ruby, React, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, MySQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Elasticsearch, Datadog, Sentry, or Azure Data Explorer.
- Experience designing large-scale cloud-based systems, including database optimization and caching, with a strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
