Responsibilities
- Build and own production-grade backend systems that ingest data from physical sensors and devices.
- Develop integrations for various sensor and hardware systems, ensuring reliable data extraction.
- Design services and data pipelines to normalize and process sensor data within TyrOS.
- Enhance tracking and sensor-fusion capabilities to correlate detections into a single entity.
- Work with imperfect real-world data, including incomplete and inconsistent feeds.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into software solutions.
- Deploy and test software in both unclassified and classified environments.
- Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews to foster engineering rigor.
- Triage and debug production issues to improve system reliability and performance.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on production software systems.
- Hands-on experience integrating software with physical hardware and sensors.
- Proficiency in Python or Go programming languages.
- Strong foundation in backend software engineering, including service and API design.
- Ability to work with messy and poorly documented hardware interfaces.
- Genuine software development experience, with a focus on writing and shipping production code.
- Comfort operating in a new function with limited existing structure.
- Strong sense of ownership and a bias for action.
