Responsibilities
- Build and own production backend systems that ingest data from physical sensors, devices, and hardware platforms.
- Develop integrations for sensor and hardware systems, including unreliable or incomplete interfaces.
- Design services and data pipelines that normalize, process, and expose sensor data within TyrOS.
- Build and improve tracking and sensor-fusion capabilities that correlate multiple detections into tracked entities.
- Handle incomplete, delayed, inconsistent, or unreliable real-world data feeds.
- Collaborate with platform engineers, product teams, and operational stakeholders on sensor and tracking requirements.
- Deploy and test software in unclassified and classified environments, including periodic work at customer or government sites.
- Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
- Triage and debug production issues while improving reliability, observability, and performance.
Requirements
- At least four years of software engineering experience building and operating production software systems.
- Hands-on experience integrating software with physical hardware, sensors, or device-generated data streams.
- Experience personally building systems that ingest data directly from hardware rather than only consuming third-party processed data.

- Ability to work with messy, incomplete, or poorly documented hardware interfaces and data formats.
- Demonstrated software development experience writing and shipping production code.
- Comfort operating as an early or first hire in a new function with limited structure, expertise, or established processes.
- Experience with sensor fusion, multi-sensor correlation, object tracking, or related algorithms is desired.
- Experience in hardware-software environments such as autonomous systems, drones, radar, aerospace, satellites, robotics, or defense technology is desired.
- Familiarity with defense or government sensor, signal, or tracking data is desired.
- Experience with classified, disconnected, degraded, or operationally constrained environments is desired.
- Experience with radar systems, embedded data pipelines, telemetry, or other real-time hardware-generated data is desired.
