Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines and reusable components for ingestion, transformation, and publishing.
  • Develop shared connectors, templates, configuration-driven patterns, and common data engineering frameworks.
  • Translate requirements from platform engineers, domain teams, and stakeholders into robust pipelines and reusable components.
  • Ensure pipelines are secure, performant, testable, observable, and supported by appropriate logging, metrics, and error handling.
  • Create documentation, examples, and proof-of-concept implementations to accelerate adoption of common patterns.
  • Integrate data quality, governance, and compliance checks into pipelines and components.
  • Support pipeline operations through orchestration, monitoring, incident response, and CI/CD processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, master’s degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ years; four additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a formal degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance and Special Access Program approval.
  • Hands-on experience building ingestion, transformation, and publishing data pipelines and reusable data engineering components.
  • Experience integrating enterprise systems of record into analytical or operational pipelines.
  • Software engineering experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and documentation.
  • Understanding of databases, pipeline orchestration, scripting languages, observability, logging, metrics, and error handling.
  • Ability to collaborate with platform engineers, domain teams, and stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience includes shared data engineering frameworks, Apache Spark/Delta Lake, Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, DAG-based workflows, streaming and batch processing, data quality, governance, and internal enablement materials.
  • Preferred active Secret clearance with a closed investigation completed within the last six years.

  • Primary base salary range is $98,400.00–$147,600.00 annually.

  • The role requires travel approximately 10% of the time and is located in Roy, Utah.
