Base Salary
$75k - $100k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and enhance embedded software products.
- Develop embedded firmware solutions for Intel, Power Architecture, and Arm processors.
- Analyze requirements, research solutions, and develop software designs.
- Conduct and contribute to architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Apply established software development processes and support process improvement.
- Read and understand IC datasheets, register descriptions, and board schematics.
- Evaluate new technologies and products and share knowledge of embedded software trends.
- Support the development of new embedded systems and enhancement of existing products.
- Use hardware debugging tools such as digital analyzers, oscilloscopes, and DMMs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in C and strong understanding of embedded software design and engineering principles.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and software debugging skills.
- Experience developing firmware for Intel, Power Architecture, or Arm processors.
- Experience with multidisciplinary teams, software engineering practices, portable code, requirements analysis, and software testing is an asset.
- Familiarity with Das U-Boot, UEFI, Slim Bootloader, bare-metal programming, and board bring-up is an asset.
- Familiarity with Linux, VxWorks, Windows, Git, JIRA, Python, and embedded hardware interfaces is an asset.
- Familiarity with PCIe, Ethernet, MDIO, I2C, SPI, TPM, non-volatile memories, SATA, USB, eMMC, and NVMe is an asset.
