Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the Supabase Cloud offering.
- Design and implement systems for provisioning, scaling, and managing multi-region compute workloads.
- Own compute orchestration across project creation, warm pools, autoscaling, resizing, and resource optimization.
- Improve automation and observability to support high availability and performance.
- Improve system architecture while balancing cost, security, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with other teams to develop compute as a core platform offering.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
- Resolve escalated support issues and identify systemic platform problems.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills in Go and TypeScript are required.
- At least 5 years of experience with cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, and storage services, is required.
- At least 3 years of experience building custom Kubernetes controllers and operating large-scale clusters is required.
- Experience building and operating cloud infrastructure or distributed systems at scale is required.
- Knowledge of networking and multi-region infrastructure design is required.
- Familiarity with Postgres is required.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools is required; Pulumi is highly preferred, while Terraform and CDK are acceptable alternatives.
- Experience with AWS is required; GCP and Azure experience is a plus.
- Experience with QEMU, KVM, and NAS is a plus.
- Experience participating in on-call rotations for large production systems is required.
