Responsibilities
- Design and develop a hardware-agnostic hardware abstraction layer and middleware stack in C/C++ for ARM Cortex-A/R/M, RISC-V, and other platforms.
- Create OS-agnostic abstraction layers targeting Linux and real-time operating systems with minimal code divergence.
- Implement and maintain multi-bus, multi-instance I2C, SPI, and UART drivers and define software-to-hardware interface contracts.
- Build modular and testable components using object-oriented C++ and structured C design while enforcing MISRA C/C++ and CERT Secure Coding guidelines.
- Develop Python automation for onboard-software configuration, builds, flashing, and validation across multiple target boards.
- Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop test frameworks for continuous platform validation.
- Collaborate with software, AI, and backend teams and mentor junior engineers on cross-platform strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of embedded software development experience, especially with cross-platform or portable code.
- Expertise in C99/C11 and modern C++11/C++14/C++17, with strong object-oriented and procedural design knowledge.
- Deep experience with I2C, SPI, and UART, including multi-bus and multi-device patterns.
- Proven development experience on Linux with Yocto and Ubuntu and on RTOS platforms including FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and RTEMS.
- Python scripting experience for coding, build automation, and test automation.
- Familiarity with hardware debugging using JTAG/SWD, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong Git and GitFlow workflows and CI/CD integration experience.
- Preferred experience with satellite or aerospace onboard computers and flight software frameworks.
- Preferred exposure to Docker-based container CI for embedded builds, CAN/CAN-FD and MIL-STD field buses, secure boot, firmware-update mechanisms, and middleware or plugin frameworks.
Benefits
- The position requires working on-site in Luxembourg and relocating to Luxembourg.
