Responsibilities
- Create a long-term technical vision for the backend.
- Write clear architectural design documents.
- Provide estimates on technical resources for development planning.
- Develop well-tested features to ensure low defect rates.
- Review technical designs for integration and business needs.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions.
- Perform unit and end-to-end testing.
- Optimize architecture for speed and scalability.
- Ensure timely and high-quality feature delivery.
- Troubleshoot and debug existing features.
- Stay updated with backend technologies and best practices.
- Mentor engineers to enhance their skills.
- Contribute to projects that delight users.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Solid Python experience is required.
- Strong experience with Microservices and Serverless Architectures.
- Experience with Containerization and Orchestration in the Cloud, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong knowledge of unit test and integration test frameworks.
- Good understanding of web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful APIs.
- Experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with agile development processes.
- Experience with GraphQL is a plus.
- Experience mentoring engineers.
